MedTech Odense invests in the healthcare technologies of the future
With an additional capital injection, MedTech Odense will accelerate research and innovation projects with the potential to create the healthcare technologies of the future that make a difference to patient care across the healthcare system.
Do you have an idea that can help solve specific challenges in the healthcare sector?
MedTech Odense is launching two new calls in 2026. Funding from MedTech Odense should be seen as stepping stones or seed funding to mature and develop concrete ideas, solutions, and collaborations that can move projects one step further on the journey from idea to clinic to market.
The ownership group, the Region of Southern Denmark and SDU, have allocated up to DKK 19 million in total for the two calls in 2026, expected to be distributed as DKK 5–6 million for Need & Idea and DKK 13–14 million for Proof & Validation.
The funding can be applied for by employees at the University of Southern Denmark and the Region of Southern Denmark – preferably in collaboration with others, allowing ideas to grow across disciplines, institutions, and key stakeholders.
There are no restrictions regarding academic disciplines or technologies; however, there is a focus on solutions that are feasible and that can ultimately be commercially scalable within a healthcare context. This means there must be business potential for the solution.
