MedTech Odense supports the innovation journey from idea to market through a shared innovation model and strong expertise across clinical practice, business, regulation, and technology.

 

 

 

 

The ambitions of MedTech Odense are clear: to promote the development of new health technologies and pave the way for well-tested solutions to be adopted more quickly and easily across the healthcare system, making a difference for patient care in Denmark and globally.

The innovation journey: From idea to standard of care
To create a shared conceptual framework for initiatives, MedTech Odense has drawn inspiration from the GAITS model, which describes projects’ Innovation Maturity Levels (IML).

MedTech Odense has interpreted and designed its own model for the innovation journey of projects supported by MedTech Odense, based on four domains: 

  • Clinical practice
  • Business development
  • Regulation
  • Technology 

MedTech Odense model

Inspired by the GAITS model, projects are worked on from 4 domains, all of which go through a process corresponding to 10 phases.


MedTech Odense has in-house expertise and competencies within all four domains through the professional environments behind the partnership. By having a shared framework, projects and partners can navigate the innovation processes as a tool to identify the next meaningful steps from idea to a finished and implemented solution. 

The GAITS model can still be used as inspiration for describing projects’ IML, concrete tasks, and checklists. Read more about the GAITS model
